Abstract
dc:description.abstractIntroduction: Several lines of evidence suggest that increased gravidity and/or parity is associated with increased risk for clinical cardiovascular events although there are no data on the effects on central aortic stiffness or remodelling. We examined the relationship between live births and central aortic pressure indices, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based measures of aortic dimensions, congestive heart failure (CHF), cardiovascular events (CVE) and all-cause mortality in women enrolled in the Multiethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA).
