Abstract
dc:description.abstractBackground: Obesity and aortic stiffness (AS) contribute to cardiovascular disease (CVD). Central obesity as measured by VAT is thought to be a more specific measure of deleterious adiposity independent of body mass index (BMI). However, the nature of the relationship between VAT and AS in different sex and ethnic-specific subgroups is not well established.
