Implementation of a digital signal processing (DSP) boost inverter for fuel cell energy generation
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis investigates and implements the use of a microprocessor called Digital Signal Processors (DSP) as a controller in the design of a low power inverter used in Fuel Cell energy source. The fuel cell used in this research is a Heliocentris “Constructor”, a 50W proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell. Fuel Cells are becoming popular and are likely to be used in applications such as a backup power, portable electronic devices, independent power source generator, promising alternative fuel for vehicles and a source generator to supply the electrical grid.
