dc:description.abstractThis thesis reports the results of a comprehensive analysis of the patterns and determinants of Australia's international trade in pharmaceuticals during the period 1975 to 1992. The thesis provides a thorough review of the theories, measurements and determinants of international trade. Thus, the thesis synthesises the theoretical framework and econometric methodology for analysing international trade patterns and their determinants. This synthesis will be beneficial to those wishing to undertake research in the area of international trade.
