Physiological studies investigating neurological adaptations to resistance training
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe effect of different strength training paradigms on corticospinal excitability and inhibition was studied throughout this thesis. The primary aim was to investigate the corticospinal responses following isometric, isotonic, cross-education and wholebody vibration (WBV) strength training, and to determine if any observed differences in corticospinal parameters (excitability, inhibition, and motor unit synchronisation) influenced the development of strength.
