Abstract

The effect of different strength training paradigms on corticospinal excitability and inhibition was studied throughout this thesis. The primary aim was to investigate the corticospinal responses following isometric, isotonic, cross-education and wholebody vibration (WBV) strength training, and to determine if any observed differences in corticospinal parameters (excitability, inhibition, and motor unit synchronisation) influenced the development of strength.
