Light scattering by smoke and nuisance aerosols

This study was aimed at discriminating between three classes of aerosols, namely those generated by flaming and non-flaming (smouldering and forced pyrolysis) fires as well as nuisance aerosols. This was undertaken using a scattering cross section based on the mass concentration of aerosols as opposed to the traditional arbittary units.
