The Book of Revelation has influenced my thought and art. This thesis talks about how the works were produced and how I believe they relate to Revelation. In Chapter One I discuss the text of Revelation, its provenance and meanings, and in general terms how it has been received in the world. In Chapter Two I combine an account of my own research visit to libraries, museums and sites of relevant works depicting The Apocalypse, with a discussion of some of the different visual responses to this book over the centuries. In Chapter Three I endeavor to suggest my own partly visual \"reading\" of Revelation, particularly responding to archetypes and symbols, and leadmg to a number of ideas of the abstract and figurative.
