Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis describes a study of new level one undergraduate entrants to higher education courses at Victoria University of Technology in 1993 and 1994. Approaches to the study of student achievement and selection are reviewed and alternatives are investigated. An integrated model for evaluation of success, drawing upon varied approaches adopted in previous international studies, is described and its application documented.
