Work allocation behaviour in rural Philippines: a bounded rationality model
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn most developing countries like the Philippines the rural sector in general, and agriculture in particular play a significant role in economic development. Hence, relevant information on the rural workers and rural employment opportunities are necessary conditions for the development of appropriate programs and policies. The research has three major goals: to establish the socio-economic profile of the rural workers; estimate a labour supply function; and assess the likelihood of access to gainful rural employment.
