Samples of RCA were taken at six, monthly intervals from a local producer of RCA. A range of tests was carried out to provide initial information as to the suitability of RCA as a road pavement material. The results were then compared to a newly written specification for the material. Comparisons were also made with local natural aggregates. In addition, laboratory samples of RCA were produced from concrete with strengths of 32MPa and 80MPa.","abstract_html":"The use of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) as a road pavement material in Australia is relatively recent and confined mainly to Victoria and New South Wales.
