Abstract
dc:description.abstractEarly in this century Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe, among others, made conscious efforts to break the box. Since boxes contain, breaking the box liberates. In building a box parameters are set for enclosing. Can a house be closed in or can there be a simultaneous opening and closing when the idea of box is applied to a house? Can a house become a box or can a box become much more than a box?
