As these disasters are expected to intensify and become more frequent, many people and communities are at risk. Natural disasters repeatedly reveal a lack of preparedness and rebuilding plans are often met with a lack of coordination and resources. Instead of waiting for a disaster to strike and then responding, we must protect people and places through the way we design buildings.
