Abstract
dc:description.abstractMaking Friends is a collection of animate sculptures showcasing depictions of humans and the human figure through experimental overlap between the mediums of animation and sculpture. Throughout, I explore simultaneity in my own perceptions of ugliness and beauty both in myself and those around me, as well as my relation to the mundane and the humor therein, and the mechanical nature of the body. This body of work places a material emphasis on scrap wood utilized in a haphazard assemblage style in pursuit of spontaneity and immediacy in creation.
