A microscopic key to the hairs of Virginia land mammals
Abstract
dc:description.abstractA key based on medulla type, gross appearance, and external scalation was presented. Conventional photomicrographs of the medulla, as well as scanning electron micrographs of the external scales, were included for each land mammal. The majority of Virginia's 75 land mammals could be identified to species.
