I. DuPont de Nemours Co. plant at Waynesboro, Virginia in seeking methods for its disposal. The slurry was found to run from 7% to 17% in solids, which settle rapidly, and the solids to contain 88% calcium hydroxide. It was found impractical to dispose of the slurry by draining in lime ponds for farm haulage, by drying with flue gases or by dumping it in the nearby South River.
