The statistical information on current status of surface waters bodies monitoring, implemented water protection measures, implemented water projects. For surface water bodies ecological status assessment in april – may perform Rekyva, Talksa, Ginkunai lakes and Prudelis pond water quality tests, measured total phosphorus (Pb), total nitrogen (Nb) and chlorophyll „a“ concentration, water transparency. In research period the total phosphorus ranges from 0,031 mg/l to 0,084 mg/l. The biggest concentration of total phosphorus was found in Ginkunai lake, in may. Total nitrogen concentration rages from 1,8 mg/l to 2,5 mg/l. The biggest concentration of total nitrogen was found in Prudelis pond, in may. Chlorophyll „a“ concentration rages from 16,2 µg/l to 41,2 µg/l and the biggest concentration was found in Prudelis pond, in may. Water transparency rages from 57 cm to 145 cm. In order to improve ecological status of Rekyva, Talksa, Ginkunai lakes and Prudelis pond first of all need to reduce nutriant inflow to this water surface bodies with untreated waste water; using biological sorbents reduce their concentration in water bodies; dug up the excess sludge; manage shore vegetation.","abstract_html":"The theme of Bachelor thesis – Surface water bodies ecological assessment of Šiauliai city.
