Abstract

dc:description

The topic of the bachelor's thesis: Application of Experiential Learning Strategy in The Process of Primary Education: a Case Study. Recently, there has been a growing talk about child-centered education, searching for strategies in which the student can be an active participant in learning. One of the learning strategies that emphasizes an active learner is experiential learning. The experiential learning strategy emphasizes learning in order to educate each child academically, physically, culturally and spiritually in an educational institution, community, enabling the child to use his / her experience (Luckner, Nadler, 1997; Braslauskienė, Norvilienė, Šmitienė, Vismantienė, 2018). In recent years, the application of experiential learning strategy in the educational process has been theoretically quite widely substantiated, but empirically, this object has not been studied much yet (Kladder, 2018; Mellow, 2015). Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate how the experiential learning strategy is applied in the primary education process. The results of the empirical study revealed how the experiential learning strategy is integrated into the education of primary school students. Ways of refining students' experience and its application in the learning process are revealed. It has been established that changing learning spaces as well as school trips are important for experiential learning. Much attention is paid to the formative assessment of students. It has been investigated that the application of experiential learning strategy has a positive effect on students' academic achievements and general abilities, learning motivation. Problem question: How is the experiential learning strategy applied in the primary education process and what are the benefits of this learning strategy for primary school students?
