The series of powder samples were synthesized by citric sol—gel processing route. The concentration of dopant Eu3+ in every compound was 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %, 30 %, 50 %, 75 %, 100 %. According to the XRD data all co-doped garnets are single phase. SEM photos by scanning electron microscope FE-SEM Hitachi SU-70 give information about particle morphology, size and formation of agglomerates. Using Edinburgh Instruments FLS980 spectrometer excitation, emission and decay time spectra were recorded in UV/VIS range. For thermal quenching (TQ) measurements had been applied to the present spectrometer. Measurements were carried out from 77 to 500 K in 50 K steps. It was demonstrated that the transitions of the 5D0 → 7F4 are dominant in europium doped YGG.
