Abstract
dc:descriptionThe main goal of final bachelor thesis is to improve manual testing process by using one of the techniques – using additional tools. Also measure the importance and benefits or limitations of testing tools. Final bachelor thesis consists of four main parts: testing needs and improvements, testing tool realization, similar tools investigation and comparison, effectiveness research. The importance of testing according to different sources and personal experience is analyzed. Advantages and disadvantages of manual and automation testing are described. Suggested testing improvement solution and other testing process improving techniques are reviewed. In the second part capabilities of test automation tool named “iMacros” are presented. Automated tests are created for policy forms filling. Two test automation tools are compared in the third part. Analyzed selected tools usability, advantages and disadvantages. In the fourth part research of tools effectiveness is fulfilled. Investigation was organized within the company „EIS GROUP LIETUVA“. Questionnaire with tasks and questions was designed. Questionnaire was completed by company’s quality assurance testers. According to gathered data, external sources and personal experience the conclusion is: Software testing is necessary and the testing process improving is a critical task. Selected tools were successfully used and adjusted for the company needs. Those tools usage showed that automating manual tasks can save employees time, so employees can concentrate more to other important tasks. Such testing improvement makes tester more motivated.
