Inclusive education aims to ensure that all students, regardless of their needs, can learn together in general schools, promoting social inclusion, equality and student well-being. However, schools face challenges in socially adapting students with special education needs. Appropriate social adaptation is essential for the success and well-being of these students, making the topic relevant and important. Study object: the support of the special education teacher in the context of inclusive education for students experiencing social adaptation difficulties. The problem of the study is that despite the importance of inclusive education, the successful implementation of this process in Lithuania is hampered by the increasing number of students, the shortage of teachers, the insufficient training of special education teachers, limited funding and infrastructure deficiencies. For these reasons, not all schools are prepared to adequately include students with special education needs. The aim of the study is to analyze the challenges faced by special education teachers and the methods used to facilitate the social adaptation of students with special education needs in the context of inclusive education. Research methods. Analysis of scientific literature, questionnaire survey, quantitative data analysis. Research sample. 102 respondents took part in the study: special education teachers of Lithuanian general education schools. Key findings: 1. Special education teachers face a variety of challenges, such as lack of training, inadequate educational environment, lack of skills and knowledge, lack of special tools, lack of parental support and teachers' unwillingness to cooperate. 2. Despite the challenges, special education teachers use a variety of methods to facilitate students' social adaptation and actively cooperate with colleagues and parents. 3. Improving students' social adaptation requires more effort and resources in terms of training special education teachers, adapting the educational environment and strengthening cooperation. Keywords: social adaptation, inclusive education, special education needs, special education teacher.","abstract_html":"The topic of the final thesis is: The Support of the Special Education Teacher for Students With Adaptation Challenges in the Context of Inclusive Education Relevance.
