Such studies reduce the gap between scientific and practical activities. The bachelor's thesis presents a study aimed at revealing and describing how long-term clients of psychodynamic psychotherapy perceive the effectiveness of the psychotherapy they have attended. The study involved six participants whose experience of attending psychodynamic psychotherapy ranged from 1.5 to 4 years. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview. The research data were analyzed using the thematic analysis method described by Braun and Clark (2022). After analyzing the data, five themes were identified that reflect the participants' experience of the effectiveness of psychodynamic psychotherapy: \"Understanding the inner world,\" \"Changes occurring during psychotherapy,\" \"The importance of the therapeutic relationship,\" \"Effective moments of psychotherapy content,\" and \"Experiencing psychotherapy as a complex process.\" The study revealed that the participants experienced the effectiveness of psychotherapy through improving emotional reflection and increasing awareness. During psychotherapy, the participant’s relationship with themselves and others positively changed, and an internal therapist emerged. The change was influenced by the therapeutic relationship, the therapist's personality, and the active engagement of the participants themselves in the psychotherapeutic process. The importance of having space and continuous, repetitive analysis was highlighted. Another finding emerged - the psychotherapeutic process requires long and consistent work, which can often be emotionally challenging and may have limitations.","abstract_html":"Attending psychotherapy is becoming an increasingly common practice, yet there is a lack of research on the effectiveness of psychotherapy from the clients' perspective.
