Pornografijos žiūrėjimo ryšys su kūno vaizdu, išvaizdos idealų priėmimu bei pasitenkinimu seksualiniais santykiais /

As access to pornography increases, more and more people are viewing it regularly, raising questions about its impact on body image and sexual life. Although such sexual material is an usual part of life for a lot of people, little attention is paid to the subject. The goal of this study is to examine the relationship between pornography use and body image, appearance ideal internalization, sexual satisfaction. The Body Shape Questionnaire, Sociocultural attitudes towards appearance scale and The New Sexual Satisfaction scale were used in this correlational study. The study included 195 subjects, whose age ranged from 18 to 60, with a mean of 29,95 years (SD = 12,08). The average age of men is 28,92 years (SD = 10,54), of women – 30,37 years (SD = 12,68). Statistical analysis using Spearman's correlation, independent-samples t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test was performed and a relationship between frequent pornography use and lower sexual satisfaction was found. Also, a relationship between frequent pornography use and lower sexual satisfaction and higher body dissatisfaction was found in the male sample. This study helps to further explore the topic of pornography and its relationship with other constructs.
