Eksternalizacijos ir įsitraukimo į meną ryšys: kokybinis tyrimas apie menininkų psichologinę gerovę /
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe impact of creative engagement and externalization on psychological well-being is an important topic explored in the works of foreign researchers, but it remains untouched in the Lithuanian context. The aim of this study is to reveal the factors affecting artists‘ psychological well-being during active creative engagement and the role that the process of externalization plays in this relationship. Five representatives of different art fields (ages 22-24), all of whom were women, participated in this study. All participants have been engaged in creative activities for more than 10 years and are pursuing a career in it or doing it as a leisure activity. The interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview, and the answers received were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that psychological well-being is influenced by factors such as the process of externalization, which allows research participants to use creativity as a way of coping with stress or as a defense mechanism, social relationships that provide support, but at the same time can isolate, and the search for meaning in the creative process, which affects identity and allows them to see a deeper and more positive meaning in works. The results of this study confirm the results of previous studies and prove the existence of a relationship between creative engagement and psychological well-being and the fact that externalization is one of the factors affecting psychological well-being and also reveals the multifaceted effect of creative process on psychological well-being.
