This research is important in order to find out the determinants of health-related behaviour of individuals, so that we can better understand their behaviour and, based on the findings, make more effective decisions in the health sector. Using secondary data from 2019 conducted by the population health statistical survey, it is analysed whether various social, economic and geographical factors influence how often individuals will consult a family doctor. The research sample is n=7000 residents of the Republic of Lithuania, who are from various age groups, with different levels of education and economic activity. For data analysis, use correlations, Student's T-test, ANOVA and Chi-square statistical analysis methods. The analysis of the literature showed that there are not enough studies in Lithuania that aim to find out not only what factors determine the behaviour of individuals in relation to health, but also what the role of politics is in these processes and how the health care system can be made more efficient by political means, so that the available limited resources increase as much as possible Lithuanian population health. Found articles and studies on this topic were mostly written in medicine, for example, Malakauskienė et al. (2005) in their research paper described the outcomes of unmonitored pregnancies, and psychology, for example, a scientific article written by Bulotaitė and Vičaitė (2016) about what motivates behaviour change. based on theories explaining health-related behaviour, perspectives. After analysing the data, it can be said that demographic factors (gender, age), economic factors (employment status, economic activity status) and self-efficacy (self-view, depression) have a direct relationship with health-related actions. Geographical factors, in this case living in an urban or rural area, are not related to an individual’s health-related actions. People with lower incomes were more likely to experience less access to health care due to excessive prices. The results of the study also revealed that women visit family doctors more often than men. The age of the respondents was also associated with the number of visits to the doctor. Essential concepts – health, self-efficacy, efficiency, reachability.","abstract_html":"The bachelor thesis analyses the factors that influence the decisions made by individuals regarding their health.
