Due to the breadth of the topic, this work also aims to deepen the research on parody, pastiche and comicism, to evaluate the work of Erlickas not only in the context of comic genres, but also in the context of post-modern and post-soviet literature. The approach required for refining the concepts of parody and pastiche, determining their interrelation, and analysing Erlickas’ texts is formulated on the basis of the works of postmodern theorists (Linda Hutcheon, Fredric Jameson, Simon Dentith, Rose A. Margaret, Gérard Genette, etc.). Since the titles of Erlickasʼ Knyga and History of Lithuania texts often overlap or are related to the titles of other literary works, the research investigated the nature of the relationship between the writer‘s texts and the works of socialist realism, national Lithuanian literature, and world literature. The analysis suggests that Erlickas’ parody is diffuse, in almost all cases ironic and critical not in relation to the literary hypotext, but in relation to the socio-cultural and political reality of contemporary Lithuania. However, the nature of the relationship with the literary hypotext is mostly pastiche. In order to substantiate the fact that parody and pastiche are very often intertwined, functioning on different levels of the same text, texts that can be regarded as imitations of certain genres and/or styles were also analysed. The analysis of the previous and latter texts has also led to the discovery of texts that can be considered “pure” pastiche. This work may be of interest to students and researchers of comic, postmodern and post-soviet literature.
