Through lyrical and visual analyses, the study seeks to identify key feminist themes and vocabulary utilized by artists. It also evaluates the socio-economic and gender equality contexts of both nations. The central research question investigates the differences in feminist messages expressed by Swedish and US female musicians. Hypotheses suggest a potential disparity in the prevalence of feminist ideas between the two countries, with Sweden potentially exhibiting a higher frequency due to its progressive gender equality landscape. However, it anticipates a dominance of neoliberal feminism across both nations' musical output, reflecting universal trends in the capitalist world.
