Tasks of work: 1. To evaluate pain intensity of back pain among female school students before and after Pilates method. 2. To evaluate core endurance of female school students before and after Pilates method. 3. To evaluate flexibility level of female school students before and after Pilates method. Materials and methods: Twenty-four individuals divided in to two groups – control and experimental. Control group had regular physical education classes, and experimental 8 weeks got Pilates classes. The research was done since November 2023 till March 2023. School students was asked to evaluate their low back pain intensity in VAS. Then, their physical parameters were evaluated with “sit and reach”, “active knee extension test”, “Mcgill core endurance” tests. Statistical analysis was conducted using “R Commander” and “Excel”. Data was analysed using average, standard deviation and p value. P value was statistically significant when p<0,05. Results: Pain intensity average according VAS, “sit and reach”, “active knee extension test” and “Mcgill core endurance test” increased statistically significantly, p<0,05. Conclusions: Pilates method is effective for female school students core endurance, flexibility and reducing low back pain intensity.","abstract_html":"The Author: Ugnė Statulevičienė Academic supervisor: PhD Laimutė Samsonienė Keywords: Pilates, core endurance, flexibility, adolescents, low back pain The aim of research work: To determine Pilates method effect on school student’s low back pain core endurance and flexibility.
