It is important not only to continue to seek effective preventive measures to reduce stress and anxiety, but also to promote better sleep hygiene and conscious sleep management in order to improve students' mental health and overall quality of life. Objective: To assess the association of stress and anxiety with sleep quality in Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine students. Tasks: 1) To assess the quality of sleep and the level of stress and anxiety experienced by students. 2) To identify environmental factors that contribute to stress and anxiety levels and influence sleep quality. 3) Determine the relationship between stress, anxiety and sleep quality. Methods: The single-moment cross-sectional study was carried out using an anonymous online survey among 465 students of Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine. The responses were analysed with \"R Commander\", the Chi-square criterion (χ2) was used to analyse the qualitative data, and the difference was considered statistically significant when p ≤ 0.05. Binary logistic regression was used to look for associations. Results: Students rate their sleep quality as good (57%), but the results of the PMKI show that as many as 69% of the respondents have sleep problems. The predominant level of stress was moderate (81%) and anxiety was mild (50%). A fairly similar factor that worsened both sleep quality and stress levels of students was high study load/academic pressure. A statistically significant correlation was found between sleep quality, stress, anxiety level, gender and study programme. The results showed that the higher the level of stress and anxiety experienced, the worse the subjective sleep quality. Conclusions: Poor sleep quality, stress and anxiety are some of the main problems students face. Interest in students' mental health has clearly increased over the last decade, with a growing number of students with mental health problems and a growing number of people seeking help. Many students at Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine sleep well, experience moderate levels of stress and minimal levels of anxiety. The study found a significant correlation between sleep quality, stress, anxiety levels, gender and study programme. Continuous monitoring and evaluation is needed.
