The aim of research work: To evaluate the correlation between hand grip strength and rotator cuff muscle isometric strength in healthy subjects.  Tasks of work: 1. To assess the subjects' hand grip strength and compare the difference between the dominant and non-dominant side. 2. To assess rotator cuff muscle strength and compare between dominant and non-dominant sides. 3. To assess the correlation between hand grip strength and rotator cuff muscle strength. Materials and methods: A total of 45 healthy subjects, 23 women (22.8±1.5 years) and 22 men (23.2±1.5 years) participated in the study. The study took place between November 2023 and April 2024. The subjects' hand grip strength and isometric strength of individual muscles of the rotator cuff were investigated: infraspinatus, supraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis. The calculations were performed to find the relationship between these forces. Data analysis was performed using the statistical analysis software R commander and Excel 2007. A p-value of 0,05 was used. Results: The highest external rotation force was obtained by measuring the infraspinatus muscle strength (11.2±3.9 kg) when the shoulder was in neutral position (abduction/adduction). A very strong positive correlation was calculated between the hand grip strength and supraspinatus muscle (r=0.833) and infraspinatus muscle (r=0.809); a strong positive correlation was calculated between the hand grip strength and the strength of the other muscles: teres minor muscle (p=0.75), subscapularis muscle (p=0.671). Conclusions: 1. The mean grip strength of the healthy subjects in the study was statistically significantly higher in the dominant hand compared to the non-dominant hand. 2. The mean supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscle strengths of the study participants were statistically significantly higher on the dominant side, but the other parameters did not change significantly between the sides. 3. Hand grip strength has a positive correlation with the isometric strength of the shoulder rotator cuff muscles: a) A very strong positive correlation was calculated between hand grip strength and supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles, indicating that the higher the hand grip strength, the higher the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscle strength. b) In both the total sample and the male-dominant side separately, a strong positive relationship was calculated between handgrip strength and teres minor and subscapularis muscles, indicating that the higher the handgrip strength, the higher the teres minor and subscapularis strength. c) In the female group, in the dominant arm, a strong relationship was calculated between the hand grip strength and the internal rotation of the shoulder, the supraspinatus, the infraspinatus and the subscapularis, indicating that the higher the grip strength of the hand, the higher the strength of the above muscles.
