Abstract
dc:descriptionThe main objective of this thesis is to analyze the dynamics of consumer credit in Lithuania based on a review of the scientific literature and to conduct an empirical study to evaluate the growth of the consumer credit market in relation macroeconomic factors in Lithuania. The work consists of three main parts: the analysis of literature, the research and its results, conclusion and recommendations. The literaure rewiew analyzes the concept of consumer credit, reviews the main definitions of consumer credit, and examines the factors that may influence the consumer credit market using specific evaluation methods and tools. After the literature review, an empirical study was conducted to evaluate the impact of macroeconomic factors ant the consumer credit market during the period from 2014 to 2023. Correlation analysis and regression analysis methods were used for this study. The research revealed that the consumer credit market is correlated with GDP growth, while peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms are correlated with GDP growth, unemployment, wage growth, and infliation. No correlation with the Euribor interest rate was found for either the consumer credit market or P2P lending platforms. In conclusions and recommendation, summaries of the scientific literature analysis and empirical research results are provided, along with proposals for improving the study.
