Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. Vilnius, 2024. The volume of the thesis with appendices is 58 pages. It is important to identify the factors influencing nurses' satisfaction with their professional activities, as this helps to understand the prevailing problems in the workplace. The overall job satisfaction of nurses influences the quality of patient care and the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. The study employed the Paul E. Spector Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2019. A comprehensive literature review and analysis of the study data was conducted, and data tables and graphs were visually presented. The objective of the study was to determine the factors that lead to job satisfaction among nurses. The specific objectives were as follows: The study aimed to determine the influence of external factors on professional satisfaction, as well as the internal aspects that influence professional satisfaction. Additionally, the study sought to determine nurses' overall satisfaction with professional performance. The results indicated that nurses' satisfaction with external factors was moderate. The highest satisfaction was observed with the nature of work, co-workers, and supervisor. Similarly, satisfaction with internal factors was also moderate. Male nurses aged 31-54, with a university degree and 11-20 years' experience, exhibited greater satisfaction with their professional activities. The overall satisfaction of nurses with their professional activities was found to be average. Conclusions: Economic and organisational factors, which may be considered external factors, exert a considerable influence on nurses' professional satisfaction. No significant differences were observed between the different groups in terms of gender, age, education, and work experience. Nurses' overall satisfaction with their professional activities is average. Recommendations: To enhance nurses' professional satisfaction, facility managers should implement variable salary components based on performance, facilitate informal meetings to improve cooperation, implement mentoring programmes and conduct regular anonymous satisfaction surveys within the facility.","abstract_html":"Butkūnaitė V.
