Abstract

dc:description

The development of organic electronics requires a variety of organic semiconductor materials with different functions. Hence the need for charge transporting materials that are competitive with conventional, inorganic semiconductors. Currently, organic charge transporting materials are not suitable for mass production due to their instability. Cross-linking could help to overcome these problems, but it is likely that it will lead to a decrease in charge mobility. Sufficient charge mobility is one of the requirements for a good charge transfer material. Solving the problem of instability by cross-linking may render the material unsuitable for the charge transfer function. It is therefore important to investigate how cross-linking affects charge mobility. The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of cross-linking on charge carrier transport in organic materials. To achieve the aim, a series of samples were produced with 4 research materials by cross-linking them pure and using an additive to reduce the temperature and shorten the process time. The CELIV (Charge Carrier Extraction by Linearly Increasing Voltage) method was used to measure the thickness of the samples and the TOF (Time of Flight) method was used to measure the mobility of charge carriers. The results of the study are summarized as follows: charge mobility, which is the main parameter describing charge transport in a material, is always lower in a cross-linked material than in the same material without cross-linking; in general, the use of the additive 3S for the cross-linking process reduced the mobility, but at the same time allowed a reduction in the duration of the process and in the temperature required for it; the mobility of the V1179 material was least affected by cross-linking, both with the 3S additive and in the pure form.
