It is crucial to continuously monitor the prevalence of cardiovascular diseas-es and the alcohol habits of the population, solely to combat this disease more effectively, as only by im-proving lifestyle habits such as reducing harmful alcohol consumption, can the most effective measures be applied to combat this disease. The questions were devised by the researcher for male patients aged 40-60 at the \"InMedica\" clinic. This choice was influenced by the fact that Lithuania has the highest incidence of cardiovascular diseases, and harmful alcohol consumption is also a pressing issue in our country. Work objective: To assess the links between alcohol and cardiovascular diseases among men aged 40-60 at the Vilnius Antakalnis \"InMedica\" clinic. Tasks: 1) Assess the prevalence of CVD in male patients aged 40-60. 2) Determine the prevalence of alcohol consumption among male patients aged 40-60. 3) Evaluate the associations between alcohol and CVD among men aged 40-60. Methods of the research: At the Antakalnis \"InMedica\" clinic, (103) enrolled patients were surveyed using paper questionnaires, and the responses were transferred to the “Excel”. The responses were ana-lyzed using the \"R Commander\" program. Chi-square (χ 2) was calculated for the analysis of qualitative data, and a difference was considered statistically significant when p ≤ 0.05. Results: Evaluating the prevalence of CVD among clinic patients, older patients were more often afflicted with CVD, with a 5-year age difference between those with and without CVD. Among the 40-60 year-old patients who con-sumed alcohol, the average age was 51 years, while the average age of non-drinkers was 53 years. The average age of alcohol consumers was 1.5 years younger than that of non-drinkers. According to CVD groups, alcohol consumption was nearly 6% higher among those without CVD than among those with cardiovascular diseases. In total, 83% of respondents consumed alcohol. Among those with CVD, the majority, 80%, consumed alcohol, and among those without CVD, the majority also consumed alcohol, accounting for 86%. The majority of all respondents consumed alcohol 2-4 times per month, 37%. How-ever, it was found that alcohol consumption was statistically insignificant regarding CVD incidence, as the p-value was more than 0.05. Before being diagnosed with CVD, 93% of respondents drank alcohol; after being diagnosed, 17% quit drinking, and 41% started consuming less alcohol. Conclusions: The prevalence of CVD in the Antakalnis \"InMedica\" clinic was quite high. Those with CVD were mostly older, while those who consumed alcohol were slightly younger. The study respond-ents have sufficient knowledge about CVD and alcohol consumption because alcohol consumption de-creased after the diagnosis. Although the majority consumed alcohol, the correlation between alcohol consumption and CVD incidence was insignificant.","abstract_html":"Reasoning: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are one of the most common and widespread non-infectious diseases, and the annual statistics reveal that the incidence of this disease is increasing over the years among the population, particularly among men who are most commonly and quickly affected, potentially due to genetics and lifestyle.
