Active galactic nuclei (AGN) may cause gas outflows which can impede star formation and even eject gas from the galaxy. The majority of observed outflows may be made up of fossil outflows, which persist after the conclusion of an AGN episode. The aim of this work is to compile histories of fossil outflow gas parameters. It is achieved by analysing kinematic histories of fossil outflow gas before and after entering an outflow and determining the difference in fossil outflow and other gas initial conditions. Outflow data is generated using smoothed particle hydrodynamics software GADGET-3. It was found that fossil outflows are formed from gas which is farther from the SMBH than gas currently in active outflows. In lower SMBH mass models, fossil outflows are made up of lower density gas, whereas fossil outflow gas density varies more in higher SMBH mass models. In lower SMBH mass models, fossil outflows are formed from gas which is of similar temperature to gas in active outflows. In higher SMBH mass models, fossil outflows are made up of cooler gas. Lastly, a large part of gas which later forms a fossil outflow enters an outflow only after the conclusion of an AGN episode.
