Abstract
dc:descriptionThe aim of this scientific research is to investigate new cross-linkable organic charge carrier materials by fabricating samples of organic electronics using solution processing. The thin-film layers on glass substrates of investigated organic materials V311 and V331 were drop casted and, in cases when the materials were crosslinked, further annealed to guarantee that hydroxyl and isocyanate functional groups bonded creating crosslinks. Upon having fabricated samples, charge carrier mobility measurements were carried out to characterize charge carrier transport and the influence of crosslinking. For this reason, TOF and photo-CELIV methods were used. Excellent crosslinking conditions were met with the incorporation of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) to the materials. The effects of crosslinking V311 and V331 materials were found to be negative. Hole mobility in both materials decreased significantly due to the newly added disorder from the DEL isocyanate. This shows that the hopping of the holes was hindered. In addition, the incorporation of PVB was also found to influence hole mobility negatively. The combination of V331 and PVB made so that the gaps between V331 molecules were increased thus lengthening the pathways for hole movement. In conclusion, the V311 material can only be used as a hole transport material (HTM), while V331 shows charge carrier generation and thus can be applied in example as a HTL and absorbing layer inside perovskite solar cell structure. Nevertheless, further research in this field can be conducted for similarly synthesized materials using not only different crosslinking approaches but also statistical crosslinking examination.
