Darbo skaitmenizacijos ir darbuotojų gerovės sąsajos: savideterminacijos teorijos perspektyva /

Digitalization is an extremely relevant phenomenon in the modern-day work environment, which is connected to the satisfaction of basic needs and well-being of employees. The current study sought to analyze the link between work digitalization and the well-being of employees through the satisfaction of basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness. The study involved 189 Lithuanian workers, among whom 164 were women and 25 were men. The highest proportion of study participants was 24 years of age, with an average age of 27. In this this quantitative study, we conducted mediation analyses to test the indirect relationship between work digitalization and employee well-being through basic psychological need satisfaction. Statistical analyses were done using PROCESS macro in SPSS. The results of the study revealed that the use of digital technologies and perceived control of technology use were indirectly positively related with employee well-being through the satisfaction of the three basic psychological needs - autonomy, competence and relatedness. However, there were no significant indirect relationships between technological overload, occupational insecurity and employee well-being. This study has helped to better understand that simply an adequate implementation of technologies in organizations is not enough to ensure employee well-being - it is important for employees to feel that they are autonomous, competent, and connected to others in the digitalized work environment.
