Patients' Opinion on the use of Information Systems in Vilnius Antakalnis and Šeškinė Outpatient Clinics Information technology takes higher place in people everyday life and it also takes over every imaginable way to improve work in the field of medicine. E.Health means everything what works with the help of information systems in healthcare. Patients are the most important part of healthcare sector, so the most important task is to determine how they view all the changes that implementing e.Health brings to their life as well as to emphasize its benefits. Objective: to assess patient’s opinion about the use of information systems in outpatient clinics. Tasks: 1) Determine and evaluate patients’ opinion about the use of information systems. 2) Compare patient’s opinion about the information systems depending on the demographic indicators in Vilnius Antakalnis and Šeškinė outpatient clinics . 3) Compare online registration in Šeškinė outpatient clinic according to the results of this survey and 2010. Methods: Paper questionnaires have been handed out to patients in both Šeškinė and Antakalnis outpatient clinics in order to gather information about their opinion about the use of information systems. Questionnaire had 18 questions. 443 filled questionnaires were collected in total (207 in Šeškinė outpatient clinic and 236 in Antakalnis outpatient clinic). MS Office Excel 2011 and IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 were used to process the data. Choice of &#61537; risk of error is 0,05; the results were considered as statistically significant when p<0,05. Results: According to the survey 84,3% of patients from Antakalnis outpatient clinic and 61,8% from Šeškinė outpatient clinic are satisfied with the use of the IT systems. 41,2% of patients from Antakalnis outpatient clinic and 28,2% from Šeškinė outpatient clinic say that electronic personal health records are secure. One third (33%) of all respondents say that they either do not know or do not have an opinion oh this question. 58,2% of patients from Antakalnis outpatient clinic and 43,7% from Šeškinė outpatient clinic say that electronic personal health records can improve healthcare service availability and quality. Patients from Antakalnis outpatient clinic prefer to access their personal health records on the internet more than patients from Šeškinė outpatient clinic. Opinion about the use of information systems does not depend from gender, income or education, though there is a dependence from an age group. Patients from Antakalnis outpatient clinic are more likely to be satisfied than patients from Šeškinė outpatient clinic (evaluated according to gender, age group, education and income). Conclusions: 1) Most patients are satisfied with the use of information systems. 2) Opinion about the use of information systems does not depend from gender, however there is a significant difference between opinion about benefit and security of electronic personal health records, patients’ satisfaction and gender of surveyed outpatient clinics’ patients. 3) Opinion about the use of information systems depend from patients’ age group; there is a significant difference between opinion about electronic personal health records and gender of surveyed outpatient clinics’ patients’. 4) Opinion about the use of information systems does not depend from education, but there is a significant difference between opinion about use of information systems and education of surveyed outpatient clinics’ patients. 5) Opinion about the use of information systems does not depend from income, however there is a significant difference between opinion about use of information systems and income of surveyed outpatient clinics’ patients. 6) Online registration depends from income, education and age according to this and survey of 2010.
