Apkonvertuojančių NaGdF4:Yb3+,Er3+ nanodalelių sintezė, paviršiaus modifikavimas branduolio-lukšto metodu ir tyrimas /
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe main aim of the thesis was to obtain upconverting NaGdF4:Yb3+,Er3+ nanoparticles with enhanced luminescent properties and of a size appropriate for applications in biological systems. The thermal decomposition pathway was chosen to synthesize the particles. The obtained materials were characterized using x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and emission spectra. Synthesised particle average size varies from 6,2 ±0,5 nm to 30,7±2,0. This perfectly fits the size range in which particles effectively migrate in biological media, besides upconversion intensity is sufficient for imaging application. Prolonging the time and rising the temperature of reaction resulted in increased particle size, but didn‘t contribute to luminescence properties sufficiently. Modification of NaGdF4:Yb3+,Er3+ particles by epitaxially growing a NaGdF4 shell on them yielded in greatly enhanced optical performance. Particles that underwent modification exhibit emission intensity magnified up to 25 times. Particles possesing above mentioned optical and size properties have a great potential in biomedical applications.
