Abstract
dc:descriptionWhen striving to achieve high results in sports, the ways how to make training more effective must be found; also, the ways to manage it, thus helping to achieve the best results and to avoid sportsman’s over-training, must be worked out. As L. Meidus (2005) states, in order to achieve very good results in sports, conscious, i.e. voluntary, regulation of all physical and spiritual powers is necessary. The tension during training is related to specificity of the process of sports activities, the necessity to perform increasing load. The issue of psychic load and preconditions for it is one of the major in the period of striving for good results in sports. Our wellness, mood, emotions are related to organism’s physiological processes. That is why, when changes take place on the physiological level, our psychic condition (mood, emotions, thoughts, disposition) changes; and vice versa, when the psychic state changes, some changes take place in physiological organism’s processes too. The aim of the research: to analyse the impact of various sports exercises on the mood and wellness of a middle-distance runner and to estimate the change of the dependence link after training. The case analysis has been carried out; it lasted from the 4th of October 2010 until the 5th of December 2010; the data of thirty-two sports exercises of various purposes was registered. The research took place in a track-and-field drill-hall, stadium, forest; a middle-distance runner took part in it. The research has shown that the methods of sports exercises differently impact sportsman’s mood and wellness not only after sports training but also before it. The condition of the surveyed has changed the most because of fartlek sport training; and he was feeling the best before interval and speed running sports training. Perhaps in future, when continuing and carrying out more extended research in this field, the results could be used as one of the ways to manage training of a sportsman and control sports training.
