As they state, parents and education (learning) institution are the two institutions that take care of a pre-school age child. Proper collaboration between the two institutions promotes child’s personality development and educational (learning) progress. According to A. Juodaitytė (2003), a pre-school institution and family have to become two constantly interoperable and complementary social educational systems. Object of the research: possibilities of communication and collaboration between pre-school education teachers and parents. Aim of the research: to analyze and empirically evaluate possibilities of communication and collaboration between teachers and parents in pre-school institution. Sample and basis of the research: 42 (forty two) pre-school education teachers and 65 (sixty five) parents participated in the research. The research was carried out in four pre-school education institutions of Kuršėnai town. To carry out the research of possibilities of communication and collaboration between pre-school education teachers and parents, the theoretical, empirical and statistical research methods were used. Conclusions. The analysis of scientific, methodical literature revealed that parent – teacher communication and collaboration is a very important factor as it helps the pre-school education institution facilitate and successfully implement set goals and objectives related to comprehensive education of children. The empirical research results revealed that the variety of possibilities of communication and collaboration between parents and pre-school institution teachers is broad enough; however, not all teachers are likely to benefit from this diversity. It is important to notice that both parties of the educational process tend to favour the means of collaboration that contribute to faster sharing of available information.","abstract_html":"In modern pedagogical and psychological literature the documents governing the education more and more emphasize parent – teacher collaboration.
