The road infrastructure has direct and indirect influence upon economy; therefore, enough funds should be assigned in order to guarantee its proper development and maintenance. However, not enough funds are assigned for road financing and the present system of financing is not efficient due to problems arising in this field. After analyzing the system of road financing the main problems were determined. These problems disturb guaranteeing the rational distribution of funds and assimilation of investments for roads: the deficiency and unevenness of financing, inefficient system of road taxation, not rational distribution of fund of the Road Maintenance and Development Programme (RMDP) for roads of Republic and local importance and state regions. The advices concerning the way of improvement of financing system of road infrastructure in future are given.
