Analysis and application of business process integration models /

Abstract

dc:description

Economic globalization has put pressure on companies to strive for cost reductions, increases in quality and shorter production cycles. Similar economic and technological trends have stimulated and determined the emergence of new management paradigms. Business process integration (BPI) is considered to be one of the paradigms aimed at closer collaboration between suppliers, customers and other partners. The concept of BPI covers the integration of internal processes as well as an extended value chain supporting the coordination of intercompany processes and decisions. The object of the research is the coordination of organizational processes and modeling of enterprise architecture that is necessary for supporting integrated processes. The goal of the research is to propose solutions for BPI planning, analysis and design problems that are based on the application of effective integration models. The research was aimed at solving BPI problems in the face of new economic and technological developments. The findings of the theoretical and empirical analysis are summarized by proposing a framework for planning, analysis and design of BPI. The framework is intended for the assessment of BPI alignment with corporate strategy, selection of the integration scope, and design of the necessary organizational changes. It covers the BPI planning, requirements analysis and design stages. An experimental modeling was performed on a real company for verification of the model and illustration of its application.
