In this paper analyzes the laws governing environmental protection of air pollution, EU environmental policy and air protection directives. Analyzed ambient air quality in Lithuania and Tauragė city. Urban air tests sites were selected considering the traffic intensity of the busiest streets of the city, the unpaved street influence for dustiness. For comparison there was taken samples after the rain in the same places. It was found that the most PM concentration limit values for exceedances were in most intensive streets and unpaved streets. The result of research after the rain and higher wind PM concentration oversfoot was not found so therefore concentrations depends on weather conditions.
