Lietuvos jaunimo emigracija 2000–2020 m.: pasirinkimą lemiančių veiksnių analizė /

Statistics reveal that youth emigration remains a sensitive social problem of the states, therefore it becomes relevant to examine the factors influencing youth emigration in the last twenty years. Society, with different motives and reasons, chooses the path of emigration abroad. The purpose of this work is to analyze and investigate the factors determining the emigration of young people in the last twenty years. Taking purpose into the account, the work examines the concept of emigration, revealing the main features of youth emigration, analyzes the dynamics of youth emigration and changes. An analysis of the tendencies of youth emigration in Lithuania and the European Union countries is also presented, as well as the reasons, motives and goals of Lithuanian youth emigration are investigated. In order to identify the factors determining youth emigration and particular measures how to reduce the following youth movement abroad, the insights of some specialists and lithuanian youth were studied using a qualitative research method – a structured interview, and a quantitative – questionnaire survey. The data of the interviews were obtained with persons working in the field of emigration processes who could provide important information for the research, and a quantitatie questionnaire – with young people who could share real experiences and opinions of their daily life. The results obtained during the research demonstrated that similar insights are observed among Vilnius youth and specialists working in the field of emigration, usually as the main reason for emigration, distinguishing the impact of economic factors. It was revealed that young people still tend to actively think about the possibility of emigration, and in their standpoint, the current bias of the state towards young people and the used political measures are ineffective.
