Abstract

dc:description

The Capital Markets Union is a particularly relevant EU initiative aimed at strengthening and further integrating the capital markets of EU Member States. According to the analyzed literature, it has been observed that the concept of the EU Capital Markets Union has been analyzed quite widely, but studies have not revealed the impact of the EU Capital Markets Union. For this reason, a study has been carried out to examine the impact of the EU Capital Markets Union on European financial markets. The objectives set to achieve this are: to reveal the concept of the capital market, the EU Capital Markets problems of the EU Capital Markets Union based on literature, to carry out an analysis of empirical research in the scientific literature, to analyze the impact of capital markets, to describe the survey methodology that will guide the assessment of the impact of the CMU on financial markets, to analyze the dynamics of selected indicators (2007-2020), to disintegrate the impact of the EU Capital Markets Union on the financial market. The main methods used in the work are comparative analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, analysis of statistical data, systematization, dynamic and structural analysis (indicators), correlation, regressive analysis. After the implementation of the dynamic analysis of selected indicators (IPO, credit standard indicator, capitalization, Stoxx Europe 600 index, and ESC indicator), it was noted that the changes in indicators were mainly due to financial crisis, economic reasons (volatility in markets, lack of investor confidence), Covid-19. The correlational, regressive analysis in the model analyzed for the variables IPOs, the credit reference ratio, capitalization, the Stoxx Europe 600 index, and the ECB indicator reveals the impact of the EU Capital Markets Union. The impact of the ECB's monetary policy indicator on the credit standards indicator is direct and, as the ECB's indicator increases, the credit standards indicator also increases.
