Efficient, accurate, high-quality external communication - important for any organization, regardless of its size, form of government, sector of activities. It helps to inform the society, to create the desired opinion, to influence it, to highlight the information that you want to highlight. The aim of research - to expose the features of the external communication of the state tax inspectorate of Siauliai county. There are uses these research methods: analysis of scientific literature, statement analysis, qualitative content analysis of documents, qualitative survey method- interview. The theoretical part analyses the conception of communication, demonstrated the channels of external communication, types, models, highlighting the main features of external communication in public sector institutions. The practical part analyzes the regulation of external communication processes in the state tax inspectorate, the external communication planning and organization in the State Tax Inspectorate of Siauliai County; disclosed the features of external communication with target groups - the other institutions, the media, the public, business community. The final work presents the communication features of the media content, examining one of the major portals in Lithuania DELFI and Šiauliai region press. Test results of the state tax inspectorate of Šiauliai county external communication revealed that the external communication carried spokesman (public relations specialist) and two major structural units - tax obligations and control. Press Officer is responsible for the content of externally provided information, focusing on public education, youth education, information about STI activities, tax control factors, cooperation with local authorities, associated structures and tax obligations and control specialists communicate directly with taxpayers. Employees in the field of external communication following by the State Tax Inspectorate 2014-2015 Strategy of tax collection enforcement taxpayers' and tax compliance, consolidated plans, there are projects to improve the communication. External communication of the State Tax Inspectorate of Siauliai County has its own specific features and is directly focused on tax policy.
