These Bachelor's thesis analyses the social services provided to social risk families, the problem of administration improvement. After the analysis of theoretical literature, the basic insights of administration of social services provided to disadvantaged families were determined in defining social services administration as a public policy area of social policy context. Theoretical analysis defined the concept of social service administration, their main features and services provided to disadvantaged families. While analyzing the empirical study of Akmenė district municipality documentation and data relevant to employees during the survey determined the most important administration problems of social services provided to social risk families in Akmenė district municipality. The most important of them are the lack of funding, staff workload and low security, low level of cooperation, lack of quality of service, which is caused by the lack of social services administration efficiency. According to the identified problems recommendations are formed for improving the administration of social services, possibly with the involvement of Akmenė District administrative staff responsible for providing administration of social services provided to social risk families.
