Abstract

dc:description

In todays internet world everyone has the opportunity to express themselves, expand their business and communicate with one another. There are many websites that fulfil these purposes, but the need for people to create their own space - their website - is present as well. Unfortunately, creating a website is not an easy process that could be done by anyone and the tools that accomplish these tasks are often quite complicated as well. Visual programming aims to solve this problem by abstracting the program code away from the user, so that certain programming tasks could be done with very little programming knowledge. To allow the creation of such tools a code library "Blockly" was created that allows for an easy creation of tools that wish to implement visual programming. This paper examines this code library and how it can be used when creating web-themed templates for content management system called "WordPress". A program that accomplishes this was created as well, and it will be compared with other popular tools that accomplish a similar task, as well as taking a look at pros and cons of every software and visual programming in general based on the information that was gathered and the experience gained when using these systems.
