However, such empirical research is lacking in Lithuania. Therefore, this topic needs to be analyzed by interviewing Lithuanian companies and in order to identify the problems of globalization and look for solutions. The majority of family businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises around the world. They operate in response to changing market conditions. It is not easy for some companies to adapt to them, so the support from the European Union is important to them. As a result, the aim of the work is to single out the aspects of family businesses in the context of global business development. To achieve this goal, four tasks have been formulated: 1. To single out the theoretical aspects of family business. 2. To discuss family business opportunities in Lithuania. 3. To describe the possibilities of family business development in a global context. 4. To discuss the spread of family businesses in major regions of the world. The analysis of the scientific literature and the survey of the interviews were performed in the work. Small and medium-sized family businesses corresponding to the status of a company were selected for the implementation of the study. The following factors have been clarified, due to which companies do not carry out business development: monetary investments, cooperative contracts and agreements, non-adaptation to the country, inability to manage a market economy. Also, when asked about the factors that determine the success of the company's activities, family support, competence, goal achievement and goal achievement with the help of family members and the state partnership with family businesses were mentioned. As for the state partnership, it can be said that it is a very important point in the development of family business in Lithuania.","abstract_html":"In the world, research into family business has only begun in the last decades of the twentieth century.
