Personality self-education as the object of the Dissertation research is dealt with in the context of a healthy lifestyle, while relating self-education to supporting educational systems, i.e. non-governmental organisations implementing healthy lifestyle education. The aim of the research is to reveal the essence of personality self-education in the context of a healthy lifestyle, conceptualising and empirically reasoning the content, preconditions and results. To achieve the aim, a strategy of qualitative research that provided preconditions for detailed characterisation of the phenomenon under investigation and assessment of its holistic nature has been employed. The research revealed the following: i) personality self-education in a healthy lifestyle is understood as creation of constructive relatedness with the self and others, grounded on experience-based learning, ii) person’s self-determination to live healthily is determined by both inner and external factors, iii) preconditions for personality self-education created through education of a healthy lifestyle in non-governmental organisations include the revelation of person’s inborn powers, (self-)education of awareness and (self-)empowerment for personal alteration, iv) outcomes of personality self-education in the context of a healthy lifestyle are to be related to transformations of personality and personal life quality. On the ground of the obtained results, the Dissertation presents the designed model of personality self-education in the context of a healthy lifestyle, revealing the perception and experiences of self-education of individuals who have chosen a healthy lifestyle, giving sense in different contexts, preconditions, self-education strategies, intervening conditions and results.","abstract_html":"Representatives of andragogy science relate adults’ learning to learner’s personal development and self-education.
